Eva Espoleta,
Switzerland
In 1994, after her studies in Fine
Art Academy in Genève (Ecole Supérieure D'Art Visuel), she obtains
a scholarship of 2 years in form of free use of a studio in the
“Maison des Arts du Grütli” in Genève. There she creates her first
performances of dance, combining her sculpture-objects with professional
dancers (1996: Coco (Orlando) Diaz). The close collaboration with
Christian Archambeau, video artist and musician living in Paris,
allows her to create several short videos and performances between
1996 and 2000 (Danse en 3 temps, Danse avec le temps, Yoshu I
and II, The last laugh (co-created with Victoria Oldham), le déserteur
d'Amour, PASSAGE, Cochon). In 1997, PASSAGE, a show of 1 hour
is presented in Buenos Aires, in Centro Cultural Recoleta, combining
nature, video and dance. To this end, she had danced Tango on
the frozen snow on top of a 4000m. mountain, situated by Mt.Blanc.
In 1998, during a stay in Argentina, she wins a contest of Argentine
Tango in Mar del Plata.
Between 1999 and 2001 several
shows and exhibitions interlace her activities: (Fêtes de l'espoir,
Salon de la Danse – Palexpo, Festival de la Bâtie, Fête de la
Musique – Place Neuve). Collaborations with Los Tangueros and
other orchestras of Tango, and the presence in a TSR production,
realized by Yves Godel (Mise au Point). In 2003 and 2004 she pursues
with her show “Plus Grand Que L'Amour” her artistic research of
combining Plastic and Visual Arts, Poetry and Dance, touching
the fine line between death and life, reality and dream, carried
out through emotions, humour and deep sensibility.
